Co-Founder & Managing Director
Aaron Swinton
Prior to co-founding ShockVentures, Aaron was a Fundraising & Strategy Associate at Techstars and an Investor at VU Venture Partners, where he focused on sourcing and evaluating companies in the space technology sector. He previously spent over two years at The St. James, a private equity-backed sports and wellness platform, helping scale the 450,000 sq ft complex from pre-opening to full operations and grow the team from approximately 20 to over 600 employees. Aaron is also the co-founder of MAVRK Studio, a creative agency dedicated to helping startups build and scale. A former team captain of the William & Mary football program, Aaron brings a team-first leadership mentality to investing. He holds a BA and MS in Accounting from the College of William & Mary.

Tim’s experience has given him a unique perspective of understanding how to operate in large companies, and at the same time successfully start and scale a company from scratch. In 2017, Tim also began his Angel investing career after being a judge 3 years in a row on a regional “shark tank” like pitch competition. Originally from Syracuse NY, he received his undergraduate degree from RIT & MS from SUNY Oswego.
