How is Shock different from typical investor networks?

We believe all angel networks bring great value to the startup ecosystem and can generate great returns. The differentiator for us is that we are truly global in nature in both the companies we invest in and the members of our community. With this approach we open up our reach and network for unique investment opportunities.

Our goal is to create a community of like-minded individuals that do not necessarily have to be experienced in early stage investing but have unique experiences and subject matter expertise. We aim to go beyond venture capital and create a community of founders and investors that want to make an impact.

Can I participate as a foreign resident?

Yes, you may participate as a foreign investor as long as you meet the U.S. SEC accreditation requirements.

What is expected of me if I apply and am accepted to the group?

All we ask from our members is that they are active in trying to add value to the group. Obviously, our founders will be in need of venture capital, but there are a variety of ways we try and provide founders with beyond the capital via connections, ideas etc.
There is no commitment whatsoever to invest unless there is an investment opportunity that you feel you are interested in. We make ourselves completely available to the group for discussion and questions and encourage networking amongst other group members.

What do you qualify as a good investment opportunity?

We look for technology driven companies that are attempting to penetrate large markets with a clear scalability opportunity. While our team’s experience is in the manufacturing & mobility tech verticals, we have advisors and members with differing expertise and we open our portfolio to those investment opportunities as well.
